An International Conference for Mushroom Biology and Biotechnology and General Meeting for the Mushroom Society of India will be held on 10-11 February 2007 in Solan, India. This event is co-sponsored by the Mushroom Socity of India and the National Research Centre for Mushrooms (NRCM).
The International Conference on Mushroom Biology and Biotechnology 2007 will have major thrust on genetic improvement and production technology of mushrooms, although other relevant aspects shall also be adequately addressed. The Mushroom Society of India, during 15 years of its existence, has organised four seminars and symposia which were well-attended by the delegates from India and abroad.
The National Research Centre for Mushroom, Solan is the apex R & D organization on mushrooms in India, under auspices of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Both MSI and NRCM have joined hands to organize what they hope will be a memorable and fruitful conference. There is no date for deadlines on abstracts or for attendance, but the price for attendance is very reasonable. You can download the entry form (a .doc file) at the site.
Solan was declared ‘Mushroom City of India’ on September 10, 1997. Besides a largest off season vegetable producer district, Solan is also a commercial district of Himachal Pradesh. Sites to see within the area include Karol Cave, one of the oldest caves in the Himalayas, Bon-Monastery, Solan Brewery, and numerous parks.
