The purpose of the Oregon Mycological Society (OMS), which is located in Milwaukie, is to study, collect and identify fungi; to educate members and the public in fungi identification; and to promote health & safety in the gathering and consumption of fungi. OMS Field Trips are held during the spring and fall mushroom seasons for OMS members. The field trip list is posted in the “Members Only” section of their web site. Meetings are open and are held on the fourth Monday of the month (except July & December). Time is 6:30 PM for Education Classes, and 7:30 for the General Meeting. Upcoming programs include mycologists, chefs, researchers or workshop leaders sharing something new of interest about mushrooms or mushrooming.
