Impressive Lineup for TASTE3

Taste3Robert Mondavi Winery has announced the first half of its speaker line up for the TASTE3 conference, scheduled for 6-8 May in Napa. For three days, the TASTE3 Conference will bring more than 300 guests together for one of the most unique and compelling gatherings of the year.

The emphasis is on food, wine, and art, but as this first group of speakers demonstrates, TASTE3 attendees can expect a vibrant interdisciplinary exploration of ideas, trends, passions, stories, solutions and connections.

A sampling of the TASTE3 2007 presenters includes:

  • Maurizio Cellura, associate professor of environmental physics, University of Palermo, on the environmental impact of one bottle of wine.

  • Christopher McDougall, freelance journalist and author on the Tarahumara tribe’s astonishing health while violating most conventional notions of nutrition and exercise.
  • Roger Corder, professor of experimental therapeutics at the William Harvey Research Institute in London with the new realities of wine and health.

  • Dave Arnold, director of culinary technology at the French Culinary Institute.
  • Dan Barber, chef/owner, Blue Hill & Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
  • Leo McCloskey, president and co-founder, Enologix, Inc.
  • Tom Rielly, satirist and stand-up comic.
  • David Molyneaux-Berry, M.W., with a magnifying glass on the underground world of counterfeit wine.
  • Rives, an academic-turned-slam powerhouse, and one of the most original talents on the spoken word scene.
  • Ben Roche, pastry chef, Moto Restaurant & Director of R & D for Cantu Designs.
  • Globe-trotting photographer Andrea Fazzari, frequent contributer to Gourmet, Travel + Leisure and a host of other food, travel and lifestyle publications.

The second half of the program will be announced in the coming weeks, along with introductions to the full list of 2007 session hosts, which already include Master Sommelier, trained chef and Fine Living Network TV personality Andrea Immer Robinson, and renowned food science writer Harold McGee, author of On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen. The full list of speakers and hosts announced is available at www.taste3.com.

Winery dinners at Quintessa, Staglin Family Vineyards, Hall Wines, Rubicon Estate, Grgich Hills Estate, and pre-conference activities including a private tour inside the studios of Napa Valley artists with Margrit Mondavi, are the first peek into additional expeditions and events arranged exclusively for TASTE3 attendees.

Robert Mondavi Winery’s TASTE3 takes place May 6-8, 2007 in Napa, Calif. at Copia. A full conference pass includes eight speaker sessions, world-class food, wine and networking, and special behind-the-scenes pre-conference field trips. With an audience of the brightest chefs, authors, inventors, winemakers, publishers, executives, artists, sommeliers and aficionados - a group as connected and tapped-in as the presenters - the conference is expected to sell out quickly. Conference registration is open at www.taste3.com or call 707-967-3997.
