These dates mark the 27th Annual Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras in California, an event that offers races, scholarships, and - of course - mushrooms. The events are held at the Downtown Morgan Hill Outdoor Community Center Amphitheater and surrounding areas with free parking and admission. The very cool aspect to this event is the scholarships - more than $500,000 in scholarships have been awarded since the Mushroom Mardi Gras began in 1980. In fact, the express objective of the event is to generate funds to provide scholarships for area youth for the continuation of their education. Many local non profit organizations also participate in the event, and funds they raise are used to support their programs. So you satisfy more than your mushroom-hunger when you attend this event.
