Mushrooming Workshop at Glynwood Center

The Glynwood Center, Cold Spring (New York), will be hosting a mushrooming workshop with Bill Bakaitis on September 13 & 15. In the workshop, the ecological function of fungi will be stressed, as will basic factors involved in their identification. The similarity of toxic and edible species will be described as well as the dangers of misidentification. The complete identification of some mushrooms may take weeks or months, but others can be recognized at a glance. For those interested in eating wild mushrooms, an emphasis will be placed upon developing a safe, conservative approach to this endeavor.

If you want to know more about the fungi of the Hudson Valley, come to Glynwood for this workshop. A Thursday evening lecture will be followed by a Saturday morning foray. Contact the Glynwood Center for more information.
