SDMS 10th Annual Mushroom Festival
The San Diego Mycological Society (SDMS) will hold their tenth annual Mushroom Festival Sunday, 18 February in Balboa Park at the Casa Del Prado building, Room 101. The building is located adjacent to the Natural History Museum just off Village Place.
The Festival will begin with an introductory slide show at 10:30 a.m. The exhibits will open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 3:30 p.m.
The Festival will include a display of local mushrooms, lectures, slide shows, a cooking demonstration, and educational exhibits. There will be fresh and dried mushrooms for sale, as well as mushroom books, posters, T-shirts, and other items. Mushroom snacks will be available for purchase.
The event is open to the public. Visitors are welcome to bring in mushrooms for identification. Admission is free. A $1.00 donation is requested. For more information, call (760) 753-0273 or check out the SDMS Website.
