The Telluride Institute, a think tank dedicated to providing cultural and educational activities to the town of Telluride, will host the 28th annual Telluride Mushroom Festival. The fungi fest runs from August 20th to August 24th of this year and will include a parade, plenty of food, discussions and picking in this mushroom-rich area of Colorado.
Several mycologists, authors, chefs, and other experts will be in attendance to share their love and knowledge of mushrooms. Thirty year veteran of mycology, Paul Stamets will attend. He has discovered and named four new mushrooms during his career and created new cultivation techniques. Also signed on to appear is Gary Lincoff, who wrote the Audubon Field Guide to North American Mushrooms.
