The Wild Rivers Mushroom Club, based in Brookings-Harbor, Oregon, will host a Mushroom Seminar on Saturday, March 29, 2008, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Chetco Grange Community Center on the corner of Highway 101 and Zimmerman Lane in Harbor. An entrance fee of $3.00 will be charged, with all proceeds going to benefit the club’s efforts to bring future informational seminars such as this to the Brookings-Harbor area.
Dr. Dan Luoma and Dr. Joyce Eberhart, professors in the Forest Science department at Oregon State University, are the guest speakers. They will be speaking on a variety of mushroom-related topics during the course of the afternoon.
There will be time at the beginning of the afternoon and in between each discussion for attendees to browse a variety of mushroom-related exhibits. The club will also offer refreshments and will be raffling off a number of fungi-oriented items, such as field guides, harvesting equipment, hand-carved mushrooms, and more.
For more information, visit the club’s website at www.wildriversmushroomclub.webs.com or call 541-661-8450.
