On April 26 and 27, mushroom lovers will gather in Peru, Nebraska for the Great Nebraska Mushroom Festival. The timing coincides with the start of the spring mushroom season. The highlight of the festival is hunting with the experts for delicious morels.
The festival headquarters are at the Steamboat Trace Trailhead. In addition to the morel hunt, festival goers will enjoy games, food, music, a master mushroom contest, and prizes for the best morels.
